Spring Young Gardener’s Workshop – March- April, 2025

"Seed, Soil & Sprout!" - Join us for a hands-on Spring Seed Starting & Planting Workshop, designed especially for young gardeners!

In this interactive hands-on workshop, kids will learn the basics of gardening as they dive into the world of seeds, soil, and sprouts.

Guided by the lead horticulturist at the Flori Kulture Gardens, each participant will:

• explore how to choose the right seeds, prepare the soil, and plant seeds in starter pots,

• learn the essentials of watering, light, and temperature to help seeds grow strong indoors before they’re ready to be transplanted outside.

• plant their own seed trays to take home, with easy-to-grow flowers, herbs, and vegetables, and 

• learn the basics of transplanting sprouts from pots into the soil through a hands-on transplanting exercise. 

What You'll Learn

As we plant, we’ll discuss the lifecycle of a plant and the importance of pollinators, so kids understand the role they play in creating healthy gardens and ecosystems. This workshop is perfect for curious young minds ages 4 -12 and encourages hands-on creativity and learning about the natural world.

• All supplies, including seeds, soil, pots, and labels

• Step-by-step planting instructions

• Tips on caring for young plants at home

• Fun facts about gardening and the environment

By the end of the workshop, young gardeners will be ready to care for their new plants and excited to watch them grow throughout the spring season.
