meet the artist
I love art and literature. I love the smell and sound of old pianos. I love the feel of silk against my fingers and a tall glass of iced-coffee on a hot summer afternoon. I am a creative through and through.
My love for plants and animals did not start with me. I am the product of generations of growers who derived spiritual and physical sustenance from the land they farmed. I grew up surrounded by beautiful food and flower gardens, and spent endless summers with the goats, pigs and chickens at my grandparent’s farms, and I have always known that I wanted my children to develop and experience the same amity with their natural environment. Flori Kulture is the realization of that desire.
My flowers are an ode to those on whose shoulders I stand. They are the trail of color I trace across the canvas of the earth. They are the medium through which I unleash joy to my family, friends and community.
When I am not growing plants or designing flowers, you can find me experimenting with pastries, buried inside a book, or exploring far flung places with my husband and our little daughter.
Our ethos
We grow all of our crops following organic approaches and do not use any herbicides or pesticides. We focus on maximizing soil potential by employing regenerative practices that build its nutrition profile, and cater to the needs of native wildlife. Insects, birds, bunnies, are all part of our ecosystem and we strive to create a space where all life can co-exist in harmony.
We are laser focused on efficient farming practices, and optimizing the capabilities of the plants we cultivate. To that end we are constantly culling our plant selection to focus on varieties that thrive in our ever-changing climate. We let the seasons guide us, and grow cool food and flowers like cilantro, garlic, stock, snapdragons, ranunculus and tulips in the winter and spring, and heat-loving ones like peppers, tomatoes, zinnias, lisianthus, sunflowers, amaranth and celosia in the summer.
